On Thursday 5th March we participated in the wonderful phenomenon, which is World Book Day.
Staff and children were offered the chance to dress up as their favourite book character for the day and participate in book related activities and competitions. We had many different characters from Harry Potter to the Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.
Why did we celebrate this?
With the growth of electronic gaming and other online devices children, the practice of picking up a book and reading for pleasure is in decline. World Book Days aim is to start to change this.
Children were also given one-pound book tokens to spend either at book retailers or at the book fair, which will take place in school.
